    Examples

The use cases below showcase some ways in which you can use Panopto in your practice

Lecture capture – create and record content knowledge resources for flexible student access

As a teacher I want to record on-campus lectures, so they are automatically uploaded to DeakinVideo.

My students can watch or review on-campus lectures at a time that suits them.

Example practice considerations for creating lecture capture content using DeakinVideo:

    • Classroom capture allows you to record your class or seminar in selected teaching spaces.
    • DeakinVideo functions in the same way as DeakinAir, hosting your multimedia content. In addition, it is integrated with the lecture theatres so when you record an on-campus lecture, it is automatically saved in DeakinVideo.
    • You can embed your recorded lecture within CloudDeakin and share it with other platforms and stakeholders.
Additional video content – provide student access to DeakinVideo material via CloudDeakin

As a teacher I want to provide my students with direct access to additional lecture capture recordings in CloudDeakin.

My students can access additional, teacher-recommended lecture capture recordings directly via CloudDeakin.

Example practice considerations for using multimedia content hosted in DeakinVideo:

    • As a multimedia repository, DeakinVideo functions in the same way as DeakinAir in hosting video. However, DeakinVideo is primarily used for lecture capture recordings.
    • Video recordings hosted in DeakinVideo can be embedded or directly linked within CloudDeakin for student access (rather than uploading the media into CloudDeakin).
    • Students can browse any content in DeakinVideo that is categorised as public.
