SELF AND PEER ASSESSMENT RESOURCES
Below are a range of self and peer assessment resources that include both pedagogical considerations and technical steps on how to best utilise FeedbackFruits in your teaching practice.
RESOURCE 1: DESIGNING FOR PEER ASSESSMENT
DESIGNING FOR SPA
The application of educational technology is only as good as the pedagogy that underpins its use.
CHECKLIST FOR DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING SPA
If you are considering that your students and unit might benefit from having peer assessment tasks/activities, or alternatively, if you’d like to ensure your current peer assessment practice is achieving the desired outcomes, this checklist is a great starting point.
Developed by Deakin researchers, this framework identifies 6 design clusters to consider (name 6 clusters here). Each cluster is further broken up into design elements – 19 in total. While the 19 design elements might seem a lot to consider, many will be easy to answer and help you understand what, if any, modifications or changes you might need to consider to ensure an optimum learning experience for your students.
To get an idea of how you might like to use this checklist, the original article gives examples of how these elements have been applied across three different units and degree types (see the full article here).

RESOURCE 2: How to get started with FeedbackFruits
Deakin’s supported SPA tool suite, integrated with CloudDeakin, is FeedbackFruits. So how can you get started? There are primarily three plugins available that support SPA within FeedbackFruits:
1. PEER REVIEW
2. GROUP MEMBER EVALUATION
3. INTERACTIVE STUDY MATERIALS
The following guides will help you with the use of interactive study materials:
- Interactive video, https://intercom.help/feedbackfruits/en/?q=Interactive+video

RESOURCE 3: Embedding FeedbackFruits into the LMS
Once you decided that you’d like to use FeedbackFruits, please contact your Faculty Support Team, and the plugin can then be released into you unit site. It’s then time to set your assessment up in CloudDeakin.
