Submit to Deakin’s 2022 Learning and Teaching Conference
Submissions are now open for Deakin’s 2022 Learning and Teaching Conference, taking place in-person on 9 November at Deakin Downtown. This year’s conference, DeakinDesign: under the hood will showcase the six practices of DeakinDesign, the new strategy underpinning learning design at Deakin.
The conference will look beneath the polished surface of successful learning design to explore the internal workings of teaching and learning – the pivotal processes, unexpected challenges and eureka moments encountered along the way.
Recordings of sessions will be made available for staff who are unable to attend.
DeakinDesign: under the hood
All Deakin staff who design, deliver, enable or lead learning and teaching are invited to submit to this year’s conference. Submissions should clearly demonstrate how we work, aligned to one of the six practices that underpin DeakinDesign:
‘This year we are doing things a little differently, we want to hear about your journey, not just the destination,’ says Associate Professor Barbie Panther, Director of Teaching Capability in Deakin Learning Futures. ‘We want to know how you embodied the DeakinDesign practices in your teaching. We are looking for stories of innovation, of how you worked with others, how you ensured your practice was sustainable and scholarly. We are looking forward to seeing you at the conference!’
We are seeking submissions that demonstrate the breadth of learning and teaching contexts at Deakin, especially from those who support learning outside of formal study units and those new to teaching. Submission formats include 15-minute presentations, 20-minute roundtable discussions and static exhibitions in the Deakin Downtown foyer on level 12.
Submit your proposal and abstract via the 2022 Learning and Teaching Conference submission form before the closing date Wednesday 24 August, 5pm.
