Getting Started

Synchronous sessions are a great opportunity to provide active learning experiences for students in the online environment. Regardless of the software you select, synchronous sessions can:

  • Create a sense of connection within the cohort;
  • Enable students to apply key concepts to different activities;
  • Allow for ‘real-time’ feedback from students and teachers; and
  • Provide a rich interactive learning experience.

As you transition these sessions online, there are many questions around what software you should use. This guide has been designed to provide you with an overview of the different features of the software available to you so you can make an informed decision based on your context.

We are hoping to gather scenarios of when you would use different software to share with everyone. If you would like to share your experience, please email digital-learning@deakin.edu.au and we will arrange a time to capture your experience.
