Dr Adam Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Media, in the Faculty of Arts & Education.
His teaching involves using multiplatformed content, delivery and assessment using real world social media and various forms of gamification. Harnessing an innovative, blended approach to learning with digital technologies, Adam places the building of student communities, networking capacity and professional, industry-oriented portfolios at the center of various undergraduate and postgraduate units he has designed. Further details about Adam’s research and teaching can be found on his website Digital Zones, the web series Our Gamified World and the Social Media Stories podcast.

We sat down for a short interview to discuss his teaching and learning practice. Listen to the podcast below:

The Building a Professional-Personal Brand event discussed in this podcast is the third Communication Careers Forum that Adam has convened for undergraduate and postgraduate Communication students. These forums provides insights into the knowledge, skills, experience, and initiative students will need for their journey into the diverse and ever-changing Communications industries. The events involve a number of industry guest speakers, interactive presentations, activities, competitions and an opportunity to network with peers across campuses and online.
